TRAINING OF IRAQI ENGINEERS

Training of Iraqi soldiers in operation and technical maintenance of BOZENA demining machines took place at the WAY INDUSTRIES training centre in Krupina during 3 - 28 October 2011. In total, 23 operators and technicians were trained in two fourteen-day courses. They would significantly increase capacities of the Iraq Army to intensify demining operations with nineteen BOZENA demining machines which are in their posession. Iraqi engineer approached to the technical and practical trainings with great interest and final examinations confirmed very good quality of their knowledge and gained skils.
Furthermore, Iraqi soldiers had opportunity to experience beauties of Slovakia, especially the High Tatras and Bratislava, where they also met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Slovakia Dr. Matheel Al-Sabti.
Meeting with Lubomir Galko, Slovak Minister of Defence, who visited their courses on 27 October would be undeniably one of their great experiences. The Minister had been acquainted with the training progress and expressed his personal interest in the furrther developments in bilateral relations with Iraq and its armed forces. At the conclusion he awarded all the Iraqi soldiers with commemorative medals of the Ministry of Defence.
